Hallingtunet
Hallingtunet på Marienlyst er et bygdetun bestående av en stue fra Ål, et stabbur fra Ål, en stall fra Villand, en loftstue fra Rue i Hol og en badstue fra Hol. Alle laftebygningene er fra 1700-1800-tallet og tilflyttet museet. Bygdetunet ble etablert som et friluftsmuseum på Marienlyst på 1920-tallet og er nå delvis gjenåpnet for publikum.
Med et stort tuntre, frukttrær og omkransende hekker og alleer, fremstår Hallingtunet som en hyggelig oase på Marienlyst, midt i byen.
Open air museum reopened with new life - 100 years after establishment at Marienlyst.
For a number of years, the museum has focused on strengthening the offer at Marienlyst. We want to create new life at Hallingtunet so that more people can experience a well-preserved open-air museum and the cultural heritage associated with this. Hallingtunet consists of five half-timbered buildings that were the museum's first open-air museum and were established as early as the 1920s, just after Drammens Museum had moved its operations to Marienlyst farm in 1910-11.
In recent years, buildings have been restored. We have researched the use of symbols in folk art in fully decorated living rooms and on utensils. We have researched the horse and its complex function in the farming community both as a useful animal and as a stuffed animal. We have established flower meadows and hay meadows. We want to create a pleasant and rewarding place to be.
Hallingtunet is accessible to the public with open living rooms and permanent exhibitions that convey the old agricultural society, in addition to new dissemination programs for adults about the agricultural society's building customs, the buildings' various functions on the farm, the villages' decorative painting, work tasks on the farm and objects that were used on a daily basis and as a decoration in life on the farm.

I 5000 år har hesten vært en del av menneskenes hverdag, og i 5000 har den også vært en del av deres høytidsfeiringer.
SYKLISK TID PÅ RUELOFTET PÅ HALLINGTUNET
Loftstuen på Drammens Museum stod en gang på gården Rue i Hol i Hallingdal. På loftet har vi laget en liten utstilling om den sykliske tid.

Herbal bed at Hallingtunet
In the spring of 2020, we got a collaboration with Jasmin Women's Network, Women's Resource Center who wanted a meaningful activity once a week. The idea of a separate herb bed that they could plan and care for together was a strong wish from the women and we managed to get it in place in June 2020.
