Lecture by the director of Eidsvoll 1814, Bård Frydenlund: "In the eyes of the nation - the Eidsvoll building as a museum and national monument"

The Eidsvoll building has been a symbolic marker for Norwegian independence and democracy since the 19th century, but its symbolic power has changed content. Today, the Eidsvoll building is profiled as the House of the Constitution, the place where the Constitution was presented, discussed and voted on in April and May 1814, where the Constitution is seen as a starting point for Norwegian democracy and the principles enshrined in it. How has this affected the building as a national cultural monument, and how has it influenced the museum's activities up to the present day?

Tickets can be bought from 17.00 in the Museum building. Doors to the lecture open at 17:30. No seat reservations.

Regular price: NOK 120.
Price honorarium: NOK 60

The museum is open until the lecture starts, and the ticket is valid as an entrance ticket to the exhibitions.

We note that there is a large turnout for this lecture, and that the principle applies on a first-come, first-served basis. We have 100 seats.
