Folk music duo Sarah-Jane Summers & Juhani Silvola

Critically acclaimed Norwegian duo from Finland and Scotland.

Sarah-Jane Summers and Juhani Silvola released a particularly critically acclaimed album in 2013, an album that i.a. received the "Top of the World" award from the renowned magazine Songlines. The duo has music from the Scottish Highlands as a basis, well complemented by their own compositions and music from the Nordic countries. Improvisation and play are very important ingredients in their music, and there is a wide range of expressions that vary between the delicate and romantic and the driving and rhythmic, always performed with great virtuosity and empathy. Sarah-Jane is a tradition bearer from the Scottish Highlands and has a master's degree in Norwegian folk music and improvisation at NMH. Juhani is a sought-after guitarist and producer who has worked with many great Norwegian artists / bands from very different genres. The duo will release their second album in September 2016, and this concert is part of a release tour for the first single to be released on March 17.
