The exhibition is produced by Agder and Telemark and Tunsberg diocese, and it is among the Norwegian Church's events in the Reformation anniversary 2017. The theme is church art from the Reformation to the present day.
Sola Gratia is Latin and means "Grace alone". The exhibition shows a selection of furniture from Lutheran churches; pulpits, altarpieces, baptismal fonts, portraits, paintings and church textiles. Sola Gratia is an exhibition where church, art and history reflect development and innovation. The curator of the exhibition is art historian Ingvild Pharo.
