Drammen Kunstforening 2017

When Drammen Kunstforening celebrates its 150th anniversary in the summer of 2017, the doors of the Lyche Pavilion will open to show the large exhibition "When the present meets the past."

The board of the Art Association has reviewed and evaluated over 500 works from Det Faste Galleriet - which show Norwegian painting from JC Dahl to today. Together we have selected 20 historical works signed by JC Dahl, Hans Heyerdahl, Maurice de Vlaminck, Torstein Torsteinson, Roar Matheson Bye, Dagfinn Bakke, Thorvald Erichsen, Gunnar S. Gundersen, Lars Jorde, Gudbrand Mo, Arne Solheim, Henrik Sørensen, Christopher Borch, Ferdinand Finne, Kai Fjell, Jan Groth, Jacob Schmidth, Magne Rygh, Sven Bolling and Sven Påhlsson. It is these that form the basis for the anniversary exhibition.

20 members from Buskerud Bildende Kunstnere have been selected and each given a work from the collection, which will be a reference point for their interpretation. In addition to these, a Drammen artist has agreed to perform a special assignment. The historical images and works from 2017 will be presented together at the exhibition. This is how the present meets the past!
