We are looking for on-call substitutes for the hosting team at Drammens Museum!

Drammens Museum is open 7 days a week, and has close to 200 events of various sizes throughout the year.

We are looking for someone who is flexible, good at hosting and who can be Drammens Museum's external face. We are looking for a welcoming, reliable and flexible museum host who can give our guests good experiences.

You must be over 18, have an interest in art and culture and enjoy varied tasks.

As an on-call substitute/museum host, you cover shifts as needed, and are assigned shifts according to the established shift schedule: weekdays (daytime and evening) and weekends. There will be a need for on-call guards at short notice. More shifts during the holiday period must be expected.

Tasks:

  • Opening and closing of exhibitions and the museum in general
  • Inform and guide the public in a customized and pleasant way
  • Ticket sales and checkout
  • Security and security
  • Operate switchboard
  • Practical assistance at events and activities, e.g. workshop activities for children
  • Keep the premises and the museum's immediate environment tidy and presentable
  • Participation in training of seasonal employees
  • Other tasks as required

Desired qualifications:

  • Competence and experience from a museum, shop, cafe, tourism or other service profession
  • Personal qualities in hosting, service and collaboration will be strongly emphasized
  • You have a good knowledge of Drammen as a city: culture, attractions and dining options.
  • You are stable, responsible and reliable, and actively contribute to your daily work
  • You speak and write fluent Norwegian and English

Personal characteristics

  • You are distinctly service-minded and welcoming, you are motivated by giving good experiences to visitors
  • You quickly learn new systems and routines, and ask for help if you need it
  • You have good communication and problem-solving skills
  • You keep a cool head when things are boiling around you and you thrive in a changing work pace
  • You are responsible and not afraid to take a stand
