The jury's reasons for the award winners

Ida Lerstad
Debutant of the year at the November exhibition – "Pattern" (2022)

The work Pattern is both dynamic and contemplative. Standing before it, we slip into a world where the line leads us into an infinite line without beginning or end, which twists and turns as its thickness changes and creates a rhythm. Sometimes we see a break that is incorporated in a caring way, and a structure emerges that makes us think of both time and a map of an unknown landscape.

Beathe C. Rønning
The year's most striking work at the November exhibition – "Plansje for Begjær" (2024)

Cut, cut, collect, sense - short shorts in shaded shades of grey. Where do I choose to turn my gaze, what do I want to take care of? The work takes us on a humorous journey back to a bygone era, where angels have been replaced by fit thighs, and the innocence of a young girl's gaze has been replaced with desire.

At the same time, the work manages to embrace the present, where we doomscroll our way through other people's perfect bodies - for breakfast, dinner and evening.
