Gardening rules Gulskogen Farm
We are entering a time when many people visit Gulskogen Gård, and we think this is very nice. Gulskogen Gård is a fantastic place, with a green lung that is becoming more and more important for the entire area.
Due to increased use, we want to convey some simple Gardening Etiquette rules that we hope everyone can relate to.
1: Museum: Gulskogen Farm is a protected cultural monument, a museum with a protected garden from the 18th century. It is unique in its condition in Norway. This house and garden are an important part of Drammen's history. The area is very valuable and fragile, and requires a lot of professional maintenance and volunteer work. Help us take care of it.
2: Garden facilities: The outdoor area is a protected garden, not a forest or park. If you want the children to climb, run and play freely, then the forest behind the school or the city park is the best option. This is because all trees and shrubs are carefully pruned and maintained, and several are so old that they cannot withstand much damage or breaking of new shoots. Many of the trees are home to birds and animals.
3: Paths: The old nut grove, the lime tree maze and the rhododendron trails are very vulnerable. We ask that children do not take shortcuts and go off the trail or climb the trees. Picking flowers and breaking twigs/branches is not allowed.
4: Peacocks: We have peacocks that roam freely. We are very proud of them, and they roam freely because they should have the best possible life. Make sure that no one runs after, chases or throws things at them. Unfortunately, we have to write this because there are still episodes of this in school and kindergarten contexts. Talk to each other about respecting animals that roam freely in advance, and accompany the children around the area. Sometimes the peacocks take a voluntary walk outside the fence. They are well-known in the area, and they always come back to eat and sleep in their cage with the flock.
5: Fire: All use of open fire, disposable grills, etc. is prohibited as it is a protected area. This applies all year round. Bring a picnic blanket and a packed lunch.
6: Garbage: There are several trash cans placed around. Please help us clean up before you leave.
If there were anything, then please call Drammens Museum.

Garden Guidelines Gulskogen Country House
We are entering a period when a large number of people visit Gulskogen Country House, and we are very pleased about this. Gulskogen Country House is a wonderful place, with a green oasis that is becoming increasingly important for the entire area.
Due to the increased use, we would like to share some simple garden guidelines that we hope everyone will follow.
1: Museum
Gulskogen Country House is a protected cultural heritage site, a museum with a preserved garden from the 18th century. It is unique in its condition in Norway. The house and garden are an important part of Drammen's history. The area is highly valuable and fragile, requiring extensive professional maintenance as well as volunteer efforts. Please help us take care of it.
2: Garden area
The outdoor area is a protected historical garden, not a forest or a park. If children wish to climb, run, and play freely, the forest behind the school or the city park is a better option. This is because all trees and shrubs here are carefully pruned and maintained, and many are so old that they cannot withstand rough play or broken branches. Several trees are also home to birds and other wildlife.
3: Paths
The old hazel grove, the lime tree labyrinth, and the rhododendron paths are very vulnerable. We ask that children do not take shortcuts, walk off the paths, or climb the trees. Picking flowers or breaking twigs and branches is not allowed.
4: Peacocks
We have free-roaming peacocks, which we are very proud of. They roam freely to ensure they have the best possible life. Please make sure that no one runs after them, chases them, or throws objects at them. Unfortunately, we have to mention this due to repeated incidents involving school and kindergarten groups. Please talk about respecting free-roaming animals in advance, and accompany children while on the grounds. Occasionally, the peacocks take a walk outside the fence. They are familiar with the area and always return to eat and rest in their enclosure with the flock.
5: Four
All use of open flames, disposable grills, etc. is prohibited, as this is a protected area. This applies year-round. Please bring a picnic blanket and packed food instead.
6: Waste
There are several trash bins placed around the area. Please help us keep the area clean before you leave.
If necessary, feel free to contact Drammen Museum.
