Textile Vessels

In designer Kristine Five Melvær's site-specific exhibition Textile Vessels, she intervenes in, and plays with, the historical spaces in the Østfløyen wing of Marienlyst pleasure farm. At the same time, she creates new layers of meaning that both challenge and expand the understanding of cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

In the encounter between the historical interiors and Melvær's textile installations and textile-covered containers, new stories, connections and reflections arise.

Through this project, Marienlyst's 18th-century architecture is revitalized as an arena for crafts and design, while strengthening the understanding of the role of crafts in both cultural heritage and the present.
