Lunchtime view: Sjøboden by the river
After the fire in April, only four original sea sheds remain in Drammen – and two of them belong to the museum. Now we invite you into our historic sea shed at Gulskogen farm, where you can experience what a sea shed looked like inside and what it was used for.
The exhibition provides an evocative insight into how the river was the lifeblood of the city – from trade and industry to everyday life. Here you can discover treasures from the riverbed, smell the tar and experience the hard life of the timber rafters.
Join us and explore an important part of Drammen's history - up close, real and sensual!
Buy a ticket at Gulskogen Gård and walk through the garden down to Sjøboden. (NB! On Wednesday 9 July, Gulskogen is closed. If you want to come on this day, you must buy ticket online). Those with a valid annual pass have the opportunity to use this.
