Cultural Heritage Days 2026: Book launch and lecture by Jo Sellæg

NB! Due to King Harald's funeral on September 9, the museum is closed, and the event has therefore been moved to September 10, 6-8 pm at Drammens Museum. It is organized in collaboration with Drammen Historielag. The Historielag's original book event, which was supposed to be held at the library, will instead be held at Drammens Museum. In addition, the public can see a pop-up exhibition related to the current book release.

Drammen Museum and Drammen History Association invite you to a joint book launch and lecture by Jo Sellæg.
Jo Sellæg presents his latest book about the building practices, use of materials and architecture of town houses in Drammen, with a main emphasis on the period 1600–1860.

The lecture provides an insight into how the city developed before industrialization, and what construction methods and materials were used.

In connection with the event, a smaller pop-up exhibition will be displayed in the museum's exhibition room, featuring objects and documentation related to older urban development. The pop-up exhibition will run until September 20th.
