Koinobori-verksted

Koinobori workshop

We invite you to a koinobori workshop! You may have seen flying carp or Koi fish fluttering in the wind? Why do they use a fish in Japan when something is to be celebrated? We're going to find out together!

The children will hear the story of koinobori, what it represents and how Children's Day is celebrated in Japan. Then the children will hear the koinobori song and make their own carp in several types of paper, watercolor and pastel chalk. Of course, they will take this home with them.

The art club starts at 11 am and lasts 1.5 hours. The museum's facilitators lead the workshop, and you as a guardian can take a short art break as your entrance ticket is included.

This day there is a Japanese theme at the museum, and you can also meet Kari Ulleberg in her exhibition. She has been on several study trips to Japan, and will talk about how Japanese crafts have inspired her and other designers.
