High and low – growing with design
The 20th century was in many ways the century of children. There was a need to put children first, both literally and in an extended sense when it came to proper sitting posture and sitting height.
In the exhibition High and Low – Growing with Design, we present a collection of Norwegian and international designer furniture for children from the 20th century. The children's chairs in the exhibition imitate both well-known design icons for adults and those designed more on children's terms.
Under the themes of «growing», «playing» and «learning», furniture and play equipment from different decades are displayed. Here you will gain insight into design processes, challenges, materials – and hopefully also the playfulness and humor that characterize many of these products.
Welcome to the exhibition opening on October 28th! More information about the opening event will follow.
