The boathouse by the river
Sjøboden by Gulskogen houses a unique local history exhibition about the Drammenselva and its significance for the city's business, traffic and cultural history. The boathouse is open every weekend this summer.
Golden opportunity to get better acquainted with local history.
The exhibition contains photographs, objects and texts about timber floating, timber measurement, organization of timber life, ship carpenter tools, bilge tying, industry along the river with sawmills, paper mills and brickworks, settler boats, the sea arches in Drammen, fishing traditions, and communication on and across the river.
